Your BIG day is going to be historic. Thornton Distilling Company is located in Illinois’ oldest standing brewery (1857), and is just 25 miles from Chicago’s South Loop. We have worked hard to restore our historic 20,000-square-foot facility into the region’s premier craft distillery and special event space. We offer couples turn-key event packages that will help simplify planning your wedding reception.

COOPER’S HALL ~ WEDDING RECEPTION & EVENT SPACE

Facilities and Capacity

Cooper’s Hall was once utilized to make cooperage or barrels for the historic brewery. After a meticulous 2-year restoration project the space has been reborn and as of 2021 is ready to host you and your beloved guests.

Cooper’s Hall can accommodate between 25-250 of your loved ones and friends. With full access to our large indoor hall and a spacious outdoor private patio (uncovered), couples have ample space to bring their dreams to life.

The event space, Cooper’s Hall, is a 4,000 square foot hall with a capacity of 250 guests for cocktail receptions, or 150 guests seated for a reception or ceremony. Polished concrete floors and exposed brick and beams lend a warm industrial feel, while the original brewery skylight bathes the setting in natural light. This hall is perfectly suited for receptions, thanks to the full bar.

A brand new catering kitchen also shares the floor. Parking is just a few steps away in the new rear parking lot. More intimate gatherings can be held in Distiller’s Hall, which has a seating capacity of 135. It overlooks the production distillery on our ground level and has access to our solid limestone cocktail bar, The Well and our ground-level outdoor patio space.
